Join Pōneke Watersports!

Formally known as Valley Dragon Boat Club (VDC)

We are the largest dragonboat club in the Wellington region and are open to new paddlers from all experience levels

Established in 2009 we are an energetic group of dragon boaters. Our club is made up of people from all over and across all age groups. We train all year round and we have five teams paddling at the Wellington Dragon Boat Festival yearly.

Ready to take on any challenge we have been around a fair bit, from Sydney to Bali, even over to Masterton.

Our club trains all year round, socially and competitively. We have paddlers who travel up and down the country for regattas and national events. The official dragon boat season in Wellington starts late December and goes until mid-March with scheduled events in the cooler months.

Whether you are interested in competitive or recreational paddling, we will have a team for you.

All training is located in Wellington City. Launching from Whairepo Lagoon. We have coaches and skilled paddlers who can provide all the training you need.

Anyone can join! For more information, visit our contact us or join a team pages.  The club caters to top-level as well as more social teams.
